‘Suicide is the leading cause of death in the Uk for Men under the age of 25, and whilst the stigma surrounding men opening up about their feelings still exists, these numbers will only continue to rise. So I’ve taken it upon myself to make a difference and spread awareness to encourage Britain's young men to talk.

As I a no expert in the topic myself, I took it upon myself to speak to a professional on the topic, and who better else than James Sutton, who is most well known for his performances in Hollyoaks but also for his podcast, Male Mind Matters’

 

Interview with James Sutton:

‘since I was I was younger, I have always enjoyed the thrill of the British countryside, so what better than to go for a walk with my mum, dad, and best mate Lewis in the Peak District’s Everest, Mam Tor.’

‘so I’m here today at Donington Park, which is a place very familiar to me. I have been coming to the circuit since I was about 4 years old and it has become a sort of escape place where I come multiple times a year to just be myself. I’m here today to film a podcast with Lewis and travel around the paddock getting a few driver interviews along the way’

‘if you’re a young man out their who is stuck and doesn’t quite know what to do, I encourage you to talk. I have been in that same position myself, I have been in those dark places and it I a scary place to be. However, I found that speaking out helps to lift that weight off of your shoulders and you feel a lot better for doing so.

For every young man out there who takes their own life, that’s another mother who loses a son, another father who loses a son and another friend group who loses their best mate. And for as long as these stats keep rising, it still tells me that something needs to be done, so I encourage you to just talk’
