Budgeting

Researching into the budgeting aspect for this product, will help me to greatly understand both the overall costs of my current idea, as well as the limits I can push during the production process of this product. Luckily, this project hasn’t required a large amount of budget or planning, due to the locations I am visiting being free to film at and visit. This frees up a large amount of budget which could be potentially spread over into other places. An area of budgeting that is the cheapest within this project, is the clothing/costume budget, as with my product being a lifestyle like documentary, it requires no specific dress code or costume roles. Due to this, I can just wear my day-to-day clothing without having to spend any extra money on new clothing for the project. The most expensive part of this project, by a long margin must be the equipment. A main reason for this is having to buy new wireless mics to aid the quality and efficiency of the production process. Buying the mics aid the project greatly, as with them being both smaller and wireless, it allows for myself and guests to move freely on camera without having to worry about wires restricting lengths they can walk away from the camera. These mics also make production safer, as the lack of wires creates less of a risk of people falling and tripping over the wires. Overall, the budgeting process for my product, is an essential part in breaking down the logistics for my product, and how easy it is to create. Reasoning for this being once again the fact that I can see the boundaries I have to push and the limiting factors for what and where I can film, as well as the technical boundaries I can push with the budget available to me.
