DJI Osmo Pocket 3

The Osmo Pocket 3 is going to be an essential part of my product, as with it including a lot of walking and physical activity, therefore making the equipment ideal for my production. The built-in gimble on the camera is an important feature, as it allows me to walk and move freely with minimal jolting or movement on the picture itself, as the gimble helps to stabilise the image. In terms of image quality, the camera films in 1080p automatically, allowing for crisp shots and  colour before even adjusting settings or colour grading. This allows for practicality and quick editing for short form content.

However, for my own product, the camera will be used to film the majority of my piece to cameras and B-Roll. For example, during the walk, which is the main piece of my product, I aim to film a lot of vlog style piece to cameras using the camera, which helps to provide the natural sort of tone and style of my product. Another thing I will use the camera for, is tracking shots which allow to gain a 3rd person perspective. Overall, I feel that this camera will be a vital part of my entire product, and without it a large majority of it won’t be possible.

DJI Mic Mini

A DJI Mic Mini’s are a great piece of gear in my eyes for many reasons. A main reason, being the actual size of the mics and their practicality, as with them being smaller than usual lapel mics, it means I can attach them to my clothing, without them being easily noticeable. These mics will be always used throughout my product, during piece to cameras throughout. The mics themselves are practical in terms of transporting and how easy they are to use, as with them being small, it means they can be stored and carried around whilst on a shoot. Another benefit of the mics, is that they have no wires and instead use a magnet to clip onto the person using them, meaning that the setup is quicker and pose less of a risk as there are no wires for people to trip up over. A further positive of the mics being wireless, is that it allows a greater range of movement as the person using them can walk about and travel further away from the mic providing with a higher quality product.

DJI Action 5 Pro

The action 5 is more of go pro style camera, with its small frame and structure, making it easy to walk around with. I will use the camera itself on the walk, to capture various shots of B-Roll and clips of myself and Lewis who will be accompanying me on the walk. The camera is known for its high quality footage and with its telescopic vlog handle, I am able to capture birds eye view shots of scenery in great detail. The use of the camera and vlog handle, allows me to gain a higher angle which wouldn’t be achievable without it, and at the same timer, allows me to gain a low angle for shots such as tracking shots to follow people’s feet which wouldn’t be available usually without getting down low to the floor.

Nikon D3200

The camera itself is the piece of equipment I will be using the least throughout my product, as its purpose is to capture B-Roll for a short segment of my product. The type of shots I will be capturing with this piece of equipment are more long shots which require a greater range of zoom in comparison to the other pieces of equipment I am using for this product. In comparison to the other pieces of equipment I will be using for this product, the Nikon D3200 is far bigger and bulkier meaning it takes up and requires more room when transporting it. Another downside to this camera compared to the others is that the quality of the picture isn’t as strong, meaning that it will require more editing during the post-production process.

800mm Lense

Although it won’t be used much, I still believe that having a bigger Lense will be an essential part of my product, as it will be vital in gaining the close-up shots from a distance. This Lense will be paired up with the Nikon D3200. However, a downside to the lens is that with it being heavy, it means that even on a tripod, shots can still come out shaky and end up ruining the overall quality of the shot. To counter this, I need to ensure that the tripod is steadied at all times and that each shot is correctly in focus as with it being zoomed in as much as it is, it can easily drop out of focus and ruin the entire shot.
